consciousness. It teaches a method by which you can achieve your sacred purpose in life.
It balances the glandular system, strengthens the nervous system (72,000 nerves that connect to 26 vertebrae in the spine.),expands the lung capacity, purifies the blood stream and enables us to harness the energy of the mind and emotions so we are in control of ourselves, rather than being controlled by our thoughts and feelings. Kundalini yoga is a ‘sacred science’ that deals with GOD. That which Generates, Organizes and Destroys/Delivers. Its not religion.
The way you choose to worship that G-O-D is your religion. It is scientific because it provides a technology, a method by which anyone who practices it can experience that divine identity within. It deals specifically with the most powerful thing in the universe, the basic life energy, Prana.
By vibrating a particular combination of sounds, you tune into various levels of intelligence or consciousness. The thoughts you think & words you speak vibrate. Mantras are combinations of syllables consciously constructed to connect with specific levels of intelligence. That’s why every class of
kundalini yoga worldwide begins with “tuning in” to the wavelengths of teachers who “got it” -so we can receive the vibration of Spiritual Masters before us. We use ONG NAMO GURU DEV NAMO to do this. When we chant we are not chanting to a person, but rather to the consciousness that he embodied. Mantras and meditation can be painful at the start as old negative thoughts surface, but better out than in!
A few kundalini beliefs: 1) Gratitude is life changing and is helpful in accessing a effortless life. 2) When you pray and chant over food while you cook it, you enhance its ability to heal. 3) Bless food by giving thanks before you eat, this adds Prana to the food. 4) Humans have 3 distinct time periods, or cycles of life where major change takes place. These are in the realms of consciousness (7years), intelligence (11years) and physical (18 years). 5) Place your bed so it is positioned east/west, so that your sleeping in a line that cuts across the earths magnetic field for maximum efficiency and benefit from sleep. To fall asleep faster block the right nostril with your finger until you drift off. 6) Brush the root of your tongue before you eat or drink anything
first thing AM so you don’t swallow bacteria accumulated over night. 7) On the 120th day of pregnancy the soul enters the womb, now what the mother says and does makes a distinct imprint on the child. 8)Kundalini yoga also utilizes Mul Bandh (root locks, but I wont have time to
cover them today.) 9) The body could last for 120 years if it wasn’t for glandular imbalance. 10) Cold showers are good for health. 11)don’t wear bangs over your forehead because the forehead bone, the sinus bones and the frontal bone are porous so it can function to transmit light to the pineal gland in the brain. Some interesting info about Prayer Pose Mudra: the sides of your thumbs press lightly but firmly at the center of the sternum. This pressure stimulates a nerve ending that goes up to the brain; we call it the mind nerve. It helps with
concentration. Also the palms pressed together balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain ,which control the logical hemisphere and the creative, intuitive hemisphere of the brain.
It is very important to note that “Chanting is NOT singing!!!” It is vibrating. Melody is not so important as the rhythm and breath. Value your breath. You are not breathing, something is breathing in you. Think about it. Breath links you to the Creator. It isn’t the air we breath keeping us
alive, it is the subtle essence of the breath, carried to us by the air, that contains our life enrgy. (Prana) Long deep breathing is highly recomended. When you breath less than 8 times per minute, you stimulate the secretion of you pituitary gland. Not only is the pituitary gland the master
gland of the body, but it is also the gateway, the control panel for your intuition. The more your pituitary gland secrets, the more active and accessible your intuition becomes. Also your pituitary gland is your body’s thermostat, switching from heating/cooling every 2.5 hours. Left nostril is the cool soothing moon, water element; it controls our emotions . The right nostril is the sun side - active, alert, it gives vitality, creates heat, and controls our
Breath of Fire increases lung capacity, strengthens nervous system, purify’s the blood ( toxins released may temporarily make you feel dizzy), energizes, stimulates, & increases vitality. It is simply a rapid powerful breath through the nose. Think primary about the exhalation, which is synchronized with the pulling in of the navel. Breath of fire is 1 continuous breath. Even though it seems like a lot of inhalations and exhalations it is considered to be one breath. Breathing less than 4 times per minute puts you in a meditative state. It increases heat so don’t do during moon time (period) and do have a empty stomach.
After breath the most important kundalini practise is mantra. MAN means mind. TRA means to tune into the vibration. Mantra is sound current which tunes and controls mental vibration. It focuses the mind and is very powerful. Repeating the mantra restructures the patterns in the mind that allow experience. We are creating with every word we speak and think. We can exercise our right to choose
at any time. By chanting we are setting vibrations in motion that have effects regardless of if we understand the meaning of the words. We use mantra in Gurbani, a langue based on the science of Naad. Naad works with the movement of the tongue on the roof of the mouth and chemicals in the brain. There are 84 meridian points/pressure points in the roof of your mouth and every time you speak you stimulate them with your tongue. In a particular sequence you increase secretion of the hypothalamus gland and actually bring about a change in the permutation and combination of your brain cells. You effect the chemistry of your brain. The tongue stimulates those meridian points, and they in turn stimulate the hypothalamus which makes the pineal gland radiate. When the pineal gland radiates, it creates an impulsation in the pituitary gland. When the pituitary gland gives impulsation, the entire glandular system secretes and a human being obtains bliss. This is the science. Seed sounds or ‘Bij’ mantras are sounds which totally rearrange the habit patterns of the subconscious mind. By vibrating the sound current SAT NAM you activate the particular energy in the mind that erases and establishes habits. SA TA NA MA is the seed sound of Sat Nam.
Your mind is not you. The fact that you can watch your mind demonstrates that your mind is not you. Your identity doesn’t change. Your mind does. Your mind always follows the breath and the body follows the mind. So use the breath to control the mind. There are 3 conscious minds, the Negative, the Positive, the Neutral. We also have one Sub-conscious mind and whatever it believes the body tends to manifest. There is a permanent log of every word ever uttered. It is called the AKASHIC RECORD. Its not on paper, but its there just the same. Vibrations set in motion when we speak don’t just disappear. When you wake every morning tell yourself you are Bountiful, Blissful, and Beautiful.
Raising kundalini is simple. Keeping it flowing so that all the energy centers (chakras) are open and balanced is more of a challenge. Kundalini goes deep into chakra details and I wish I had the time to cover them with you today. They even has certain kriyas (yoga sets) to do for each chakra and simple a quiz to take to see which chakra needs attention. Kundalini yoga also uses yogic numerology for your Soul, Karma, Gift, Destiny and Path. There are 10 bodies and the 11th embodiment. (Soul body, Negative mind, Positive mind, Neutral mind, Physical body, Arc line, Aura, Pranic body, Subtle body, and Radiant body.) These help you choose a meditation that is good for you to practise.
A interesting side point: Kirlian photography claims to capture the image of aura on film. Also recently there are scientists that are photographing the energy passed between crystal skulls, and the meridians used in acupuncture showon film and the energy out of stonehedge, the pyramids ect. Has been photographed (the sky around them looks like northern lights on the photo) This began by photography expensive race horses that were injured and couldn’t race and they wanted to help them heal/diagnose what was wrong.
On the power of woman: a woman has 16 times the emotional impact, 16 times the intuitive awareness, and 16 times the protective sense than men. A man doesn’t have lunar refection. Cosmically speaking, a man carries the energy and the radiance of the sun, the female represents the moon, the lunar energy. She waxes and wanes. He does not. The sun is stationary, shining and warm in spite of the clouds. The moon is bright beautiful and reflecting. Take these 2 elements and you can understand the character of man and woman. She shines her brightest reflecting the light of the sun. Woman is the embodiment of Gods creative power. Every woman is a Goddess. This is worth repeating. Every woman is a Goddess. Why call that one bad from which kings are born?
Each person gets what he/she needs at that point in their journey along the path. Happiness is what you choose to feel, it cant be dependant on outside influences.
