I am in the process of updateing it, so there will be many changes and fine tuning, spell check and text that needs to be edited and added to. I appreciate your patience while these changes take place and the website evolves.
Yes, I could have just waited until it was all perfect, then published it, but life is not a dress reversal, so I am just diving in. My creativity is just dieing to get out! I have been on break for 2 months and have 2 more to go before I am back at UNB. I am lucky to be going to university in my early 30`s. How I got here is, like life always is, unplanned.
I was a top hairstylist and barber in the posh city of St.Albert, AB for 13 years. I was blessed enough to own my own salon for 7, and this is where I met my husband. His job requires multiple frequent moves, so upon leaving the dream I needed a new career move.
I`d already become a Reiki Master degree practitioner in my 20`s, but I`d wished I had been certified in yoga teacher training. (When I started yoga it wasn't cool yet, people didnt know what it was, or mistook it for a religion.) So I attended Lions Breath Year Long RYT program. Just before I dipped my toes in back to school with Yoga teacher training I did a self taught Tarot Card reading course- now that was fun! It is not fortune telling like people think, rather it is the origional psychology.
Then, when we moved to NB, with my student skills refreshed, I applied and was accepted at UNB. In January 2012 I started my second year of the Honors Program with Philosophy with a minor in Psychology. I had always wanted to go to university, but with my salon being successful when I was so young it kept me busy. I love to read and I always chatted with my clients about things I`d read, and they would ask me what I was taking at university, before I ever planned to go. A sign?...
I miss conversation with people, giving tips to ladies about makeup, fashion and home decor, and expressing my diverse interests and range of skills helping others. Sometimes I think I would love to be a editor of a ladies magazine.
My creativity needs a outlet. My social skills are hungry for connection with others. My posts will be a huge variety, of everything me: from scrapbooking collage photos, clay images I've made, comments on philosophy, tips for hair, makeup, nails and skin care, product reveiws, to yoga and wellness info. With most of my friends on the other side of Canada, this is a way I can connect, and better than facebook status updates!
I welcome any beauty or natural health question you may have.
I miss having a business and offering a service and products that enrich peoples lives, so I have a few pages of previous companies I've worked for and overstock products I have for sale. With all our moves I have realised I must down size and I plan to eventually make a 'garage sale' page with items in need of new homes, for free or a small donation to charity, or maybe an option to bid on some other stuff. A shout out to my husband who told me I should create a website like this 3 years ago. (I never do listen! He is always right: I am lucky to have a partner who knows me so well and supports me in everything I do, at the slightest mention of an idea I have.)
A little more about me if your a new friend I havn't met yet: I love to travel and have been to Rome, Venice, London, Paris, Nevis Island, New York, Las Vegas, BC, NS, Quebec City, and PEI to name a few. I was huge into new age-y stuff and am well read and experianced on such topics, now my focus is very acedemic and I am more critical of emperical evidence. My husband and I have a libary that makes movers cry, every time. We are the proud parents of a wild stray cat that adopted us a year ago, he has put a cramp on our traveling but he is worth it.
I need a outlet, and this is it. I would be honored if you joined me and found inspiration in my musings.
